(May 2008) This week I attended a nice workshop on molecular evolution, molecular phylogenetics and population genetics which was held by Center for Computational and Evolutionary Biology (CCEB) of Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Several famous scientists in these field gave wonderful speeches and demos, they are Professor Ziheng Yang (the author of PAML) from University College London (UK), Professor John Huelsenbeck (the author of MrBayes) from UC Berkeley (USA), Professor Bruce Rannala from UC Davis (USA), Professor Laurent Excoffier (the author of Arlequin) from University of Bern (Switzerland), Professor Masami Hasegawa (one of the authors of HKY model) from Fudan University, China (Professor Hasegawa was at University of Tokyo before 2007). The workshop was organized by Professor Dexing Zhang at Institute of Zoology (IOZ), Chinese Academy of Sciences. Thanks for their hard work.
